Real arithmetic instead of screenshots of someone else's Stripe dashboard. Here's what actually determines the number.

Padel is the fastest-growing racket sport in the UK and coaching diaries have filled faster than courts have been built. Which means a lot of padel coaches are now at the point every in-demand coach reaches: fully booked, and still capped.
So: what does a course actually add?
Course income is not mysterious. It's three numbers multiplied together:
Everything else — the platform, the editing, the funnel — moves these three numbers. It doesn't replace them.
Take a coach with 400 people in their orbit: current players, waiting list, club group chat, parents of juniors.
At a £35 hourly coaching rate, that middle number is roughly 50 hours of coaching you didn't have to stand on court for — and it repeats every time you launch, without you being there.
Model your own version in the calculator. The one to pay attention to is the conservative row. If the build only makes sense at 5%, it doesn't make sense.
The first launch is the expensive one. After it you have three things you didn't have:
This is why comparing a first launch against the build cost in isolation is the wrong maths. The asset doesn't expire in January.
A course is not a lottery ticket and it isn't passive income. It's a product you build once and sell repeatedly, with real work in the selling.
Audience is the slowest and highest-leverage. A content system that adds 30 relevant local players a month changes the arithmetic permanently.
Conversion moves with the specificity of the outcome. "Padel fundamentals" converts badly. "Fix your bandeja in three weeks" converts well. Same footage, different promise.
Price is the fastest lever and most padel coaches are under-charging — see how to price a coaching course.
Be honest about this. If you have under about 100 people who know you, no waiting list and no content going out, a course has nobody to sell to. Build the audience first. We turn this work down rather than take the money, because the build would fail and everyone would know whose fault it was.
A conversation. If the numbers don't work we'll say so — book a call and we'll map your actual list against your actual price point, or model it yourself first with the calculator. Padel-specific detail on what gets built is on the padel coaches page.
It depends almost entirely on audience size, conversion rate and price. A coach with around 400 warm contacts launching a £97-£197 course typically models somewhere between £800 and £4,000 per launch. The conservative end is the number worth planning against.
No. You need a warm one. A few hundred players who already know you and pay you outsells tens of thousands of strangers, because trust converts and reach alone doesn't.
In practice it usually increases them. Players who work through a course identify what they need to fix and book sessions to fix it. It also monetises the people who can't get a slot in your diary at all.
